Glasgow Oran Mor, Sunday 2 December, 8:00 pm, £11

‘Indie-rock-americana-retro’ band Zeus (not to be confused with Zeus the rapper or Zeus the heavy metal band) are touring their second album Busting Visions around Europe, stopping at Glasgow on the 2nd December. The list of people they’ve toured with before might give you a clearer idea of what to expect than their genre tags – having shared the stage with the likes of Bright Eyes, Metric, Broken Social Scene and Glasgow’s very own Belle & Sebastian (and being label mates with Feist), they are also regularly compared to classic rock acts such as The Beatles and The Who. This time round they’re supporting the expansive, melodic (and Canadian) indie legends Stars, whose latest album ‘The North’ was released in September.. Zeus’ boisterous album Busting Visions is a fun, and energetic journey, and these guys have spent so long touring with the best and brightest of the international indie scene that you’d do well not to miss out on what may well be a masterclass in ‘indie-rock-americana-retro’, however you like to interpret this tag.
