Andrew Hung and Benjamin John Power return with their 3rd album release Slow Focus and it defines a continual progress from the last full LP 2009’s Tarot Sport . Slow Focus offers a pallet of wonderful sounds that intertwine with each other throughout the whole 7 effortlessly flowing tracks.

The whole soundscape feel is not lost once throughout the entire LP with ‘Brainfreeze’ plunging the listener straight into this wall of texture with intense motorik drum beats surrounded by an abyss of drones. It is sometimes difficult to see how such a band could possibly diversify but the track ‘Year Of The Dog’ manages to create a strange intermission with the sound of a computerised rainforest. ‘Sentients’ stretches far into a haunting, 32bit, orchestral flow, whilst the last two tracks of this beautifully constructed 51 minute LP really signify the whole effect of a progressive journey. ‘Stalker’ and ‘Hidden Xs’ creates a comfortably creepy state that has hints of early electronic artists like Kraftwerk alongside modern day influences like Daniel Avery.

Slow Focus is not only improvement from the last two albums, but it’s the duos first LP to fully connect with their listener, creating an authentic emotional experience within them.
