On top of the the vast number of Q&A’s, practical workshops and industry master classes taking place at the QMU as part of Radio 1’s Academy (including workshops from the likes of Emeli Sandé, Kevin Bridges and the Waterloo Road cast and Q&A’s from big names such as Sir Richard Branson to Biffy Clyro) from May 10th until May 16th Radio 1 will broadcast live from the Queen Margaret Union.
Across the week DJs including Fearne Cotton (and the famous Radio 1 live lounge), Scott Mills, Greg James, Charlie Sloth, Huw Stephens and Ally McCrae will be going out from the the union across the nation. And of course, they’ll have all the fun, games and super special guests that you would expect from a week on Britain’s biggest radio station.
Other Radio 1 shows to come from the Academy include Radio 1’s Dance Anthems with Danny Howard, Radio 1’s Review Show with Edith Bowman, Dan and Phil and The Radio 1 Surgery with Aled and Dr Radha, many of which will be to a live audience.
In addition to this, The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw will broadcast from BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay in Glasgow on Monday 12th May between 6:30am – 10am and Phil Taggart and Alice Levine will do their show from there on Thursday 15th May from 10pm – midnight.
If you’d like to be in attendance, tickets for Radio 1′s Academy workshops are free of charge and will be available online and at the QMU from Monday 5th May (12 noon until 6pm on the 5th, 10am until 6pm from Tuesday the 6th until Friday the 9th) when the full programme timetable is announced.
