Aye heroes are all well and good – but they tend to mean different things to different people. So qmunicate wanted to decide, once and for all, the best hero; and since chocolate is the best thing ever, the best chocolate Hero must be the best thing ever ever.
The trusty ol’ fav polled highest in our survey. Now I know what you’re thinking. ‘That’s boring as fuck.’ I voiced this very opinion and was hit with ‘But it just tastes the best!’ Which is, in fairness, a very fair way of deciding the best Heroes chocolate.
Dairy Milk Caramel
The queen to Dairy Milk’s king, complete with feather boa to suggest all things decadent and diva. Kinda proves that Dairy Milk must’ve stuck around this long for a reason. Oddly, Dairy Milk Whole Nut, which used to feature in Heroes tubs, didn’t feature in our survey at all!
Creme Egg Twisted
A relative newcomer to the world of Heroes, it still scored impressively high. Perhaps it’s the novelty of being able to eat Creme Egg goo all-year-round and not just at Easter; perhaps it’s just cause they’re damn tasty. A worthy inclusion.
Twirl is next, which I found slightly bemusing as I’ve always considered it to be the droothiest of chocolate bars – that is, it gives you the driest mouth imaginable unless a pint of milk is tanned alongside it (for its Galaxy equivalent, think Ripple). Still, it’s now officially qmunicate’s fourth fav Hero.
And last but not least, Eclairs. Another dark horse this one – they always seem to be the last ones left in my family tub, but a good sook on the hard caramel to be rewarded with a warm flow of melted chocolate can’t be described as anything but delightful.
These are our top 5 Heroes, but we would like to take a moment to remember the Heroes that have been left by the wayside over the years: Bournville, Dream, Dairy Milk Whole Nut and Toblerone (if I’ve forgotten any PLEASE let me know!). And a warm welcome to Wispa, which, as my own personal favourite, merits at least a mention!
