The QMU’s 7th Annual Red Ribbon Ball will be held on Friday the 17th of November. The ball is held in aid of the Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK’s leading sexual health charity. The Red Ribbon Ball is held in conjunction with World Aids Day which is on the 1st of December. Previous years’ events have included cabaret acts, burlesque acts and a masquerade-themed night, with this year’s theme being Night at the Opera.
This year’s event will kick off at 7.30pm with a fantastic selection of cocktails from Red Bull. Following this a cabaret will take us from 8pm until 11pm, comprised of magic, a musical saw and much more! The event will head on into the night with Karaoke from 11pm until 2am in Jim’s Bar upstairs!
Representatives from the Terrence Higgins Trust will be in attendance throughout the evening to explain a bit more about what the charity does.
HIV prevention and awareness are very important to the QMU as well as the promotion of good sexual health and wellbeing practices. Our free condom stall in the QMU runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 12pm and 4pm and is staffed by volunteers from the Campaigns and Charities committee at the QMU. Feel free to ask them for any extra information you need, if they don’t have the answer you’re looking for they have plenty of resources on hand to help!
Red Ribbon Ball tickets cost £6 for members and £8 for non-members. It’s an amazing opportunity to glam up and raise money for charity, and best of all it’s pocket-friendly!
