Freshers’ Information: Tuesday

Welcome to Tuesday, freshers – let’s see what you’ve got in store today!

Up bright and early? Head down to Morning Zumba to shake off the early-week cobwebs – get down to Qudos for 11am for a dance, all in the name of supporting this week’s charity, St Columba’s Hospice.
Tours of the building will depart regularly throughout the day from the QMU Foyer, between 11am and 4pm – find one of our QMU Freshers’ Helpers who’ll show you what and where is what! Want to know more about the students who run your union? You can meet the Board of Management at 2pm over a coffee in our coffee shop, Cafe 22.
Studying a language, studying abroad, or just want any other opportunity to practise your language skills? Language Cafe is the perfect chance for that – in Scran between 12pm and 2pm, you’ll find tables with the names of languages written on, including English. You can practise your native tongue with learners, or brush off your high school French skills for the first time in a while! Or, alternatively, if you’re looking for a more general event to meet new people, come down to Speed Mating at 2pm over in Food Factory.
Fancy something a wee bit more chill? We’ll be watching the best of Cartoon Network in Champion’s Bar between 2pm and 4pm – come and relax with your favourite animated shows.
Today we’re celebrating all things music – we’ve got Rock Bingo in Jim’s at 3pm, where instead of listening for numbers, we’ll be listening out for songs. Brush up on your Nirvana to your New Order and impress your friends to win!
In the evening, some of Glasgow’s freshest bands will be joining us for a freshers-exclusive gig. Honeyblood, joined by Life Model and Lucia, will be hitting the famous Qudos stage at 8pm – find out more about the bands with the preview in our zine, out around campus now!
We’ll dance the night away with our indie after party – head up to Jim’s at 11pm for some of the biggest indie hits to dance the night away. Make sure you get your glitter face paint fix from our Charity Team, too, painting beautiful patterns in exchange for donations to our charity of the week, St. Columba’s!
