How is it Thursday already? It feels like we were wearing our white t-shirts and dancing just yesterday! It was great to meet so many new faces at our workshop yesterday, too! No fear, though, as we’ve saved some of the best ’til last.
Outside the QMU from 10am you’ll find a houseplant sale, with all sorts of weird and wonderful greenery to decorate your new home with. You’ll find everything from potted plants to cacti, suitable for all level of plant parents. While you’re treating yourself, there’s a vintage fair throughout the day, too, in Qudos – get the waviest of garms from 10am ’til 4pm.
It is freshers’ week, and it can be a tough slog, even for the most seasoned partiers. Get down to Morning Yoga to rebalance and refresh – head up to Committee Room 4 at 11am to start your day off right, even if you’re not feeling so fresh anymore. Elephant in the Room, the QMU’s mental health awareness campaign, will also be running a creative session in the Reflection Room on the third floor from 12pm – if it’s good enough for Bob Ross, it’s good enough for us.
Aloud is the QMU’s slam poetry night and perfect for seasoned poets and new-starts alike. Head down to the qmunicate x Aloud poetry workshop at 3pm in Scran – we’ll be learning some of the basics of slam poetry and a bit about the editing process, too. Aloud’s first slam of the year will directly follow the workshop in Scran, too, at 5pm – you can either perform poetry you’ve written at home, your work from the workshop, or even just enjoy the performances from the audience.
There’s some strange, strange things going on today – join us for the Upside Down, our 80s themed party! You can warm up during the day with arcade games in Jim’s Bar throughout the day, with the party continuing until late. Walk into Qudos and be transplanted to Hawkins, Indiana, for a night where anything goes – costumes encouraged!
