Happy Monday, one and all! Now that Freshers’ Week has truly begun, it’s time to fill your days and nights with all the fun you can get your hands on. Luckily for you, we have the complete breakdown of all things QMU this beautiful Monday morning!
There’s no better time to give your wardrobe a makeover than the start of university, so why not stop by our vintage clothing sale? All of the vintage goodness you can imagine will be going on between 10am and 5pm in Venue, so make sure you come along if you’re looking for some beautiful gems for a good price.
This is also a great day to take the time to explore your new union! Our lovely Freshers’ helpers will be on hand at Reception between 11am and 4pm to give you a welcome tour of the building and tell you all about what the QMU has to offer. Meanwhile, between 2 and 3pm our student-led board of management team will be in the Cafe to talk about their roles and answer any questions you may have.
Once you’ve had a good nosy around, we recommend that you stop by one of the great buddy-making events going on in the building. If you fancy yourself some nice, healthy competition, our pool tournament (12 to 3pm) in Games is the place for you. Or if the thought of a competition makes your feet feel funny like it does mine, be sure to stop by our round of Speed Mating that is taking over the Bar between 11am and 2pm. Both the pool tournament and Speed Mating are perfect opportunities to meet some new people and have a few laughs whilst you’re at it, so we hope to see you there!
Finally, for the first official night of Freshers’ Week, we have an incredible line up of DJs planned. Sam Divine, AISHA and Frankie Elyse will be playing in Venue between 10pm and 2am, so be sure to stop by if you love a good boogie and some even better tunes.
